BLURRED MEMORY
2024
This project explores the fragility of memory through a generative tool built in p5.js. The code analyzes photographs, applies pixelation, and translates their values into abstract line compositions influenced by the image’s own noise.
At the core of the project is the tension between what we try to remember and what gradually fades away. By distorting visual material and turning it into algorithmic interpretation, the work reflects the ease with which human memory blurs over time, especially when difficult images become mediated, filtered, and softened through digital processes.
The result is a series of original holocaust visuals that sit between clarity and disappearance, revealing the delicate boundary between memory, distortion, and emotional distance.

As human beings we tend to “forget” - The tension between difficult imagery and the digital processes that soften and obscure it.
