THE STAR WE CARRY

This project was born from a desire to help Jewish individuals feel proud of who they are without feeling forced to hide or compromise their identity. Growing up abroad, and as many Jewish people can attest, antisemitism often becomes a quiet shadow within everyday life, shaping how we present ourselves and how safe we feel to be visible.

Using my personal story alongside the stories of additional participants, I created a generative tool that detects antisemitic terms and concepts within each text and transforms them into a unique Star of David. The code analyzes each narrative, identifies targeted language, and builds a personal visual symbol based on the emotional weight of the experience.

The result is a collection of individualized Magen David patterns. Each one representing a personal journey, a memory, and an act of visibility. By turning negative language into a symbol of identity and resilience, the project reframes vulnerability into pride and presence.
